O'zeret

Terms of Service

Last updated 15 October 2026

Ozeret introduces households to housekeepers. It is not an employment agency, it does not employ anybody, and it is not a party to whatever the two of you agree. What you arrange is between you.

What Ozeret is

Ozeret is a place to find each other. A household describes the work it needs; a housekeeper says what they do and where they travel. If the two of you agree to work together, that agreement is yours — Ozeret is not part of it.

Ozeret is not your employer and does not employ housekeepers. It does not set anybody's pay, hours, or how the work is done. It takes no commission on the work and handles no payment for it.

What we check, and what we do not

We verify that a person controls the phone number they signed up with. That is all. Ozeret does not run criminal background checks, does not confirm immigration or work status, does not verify references, and does not visit anybody's home. Reviews and ratings on Ozeret are written by other users, and we do not check whether they are true.

Deciding whether to let somebody into your home, or to enter somebody else's, is your decision and yours alone. Meet people, ask for references, and use your judgement, exactly as you would without Ozeret.

Paying each other

Payment for housekeeping is arranged directly between the household and the housekeeper — cash, Zelle, a cheque, whatever you agree. It does not pass through Ozeret, and Ozeret never holds it. If a payment goes wrong, we have no part in it and cannot recover it for you.

You are each responsible for your own taxes and for any law that applies to employing somebody in your home.

The subscription

Using Ozeret decently

Do not:

We can suspend or remove an account that does these things. Where we can, we will tell you why.

Photographs and what you write

What you write and the photographs you add stay yours. By putting them on Ozeret you let us show them to the people they are meant for — a job note to the cleaners who can see the job, a review on the profile it is about. We do not sell them, publish them elsewhere, or use them to advertise.

Ending it

You can delete your account in Settings, whenever you like. What happens to your information then is set out in the privacy notice.

Where we stand if something goes wrong

Ozeret is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise it will never be wrong or never be down.

Because Ozeret is only an introduction, we are not responsible for what happens between you — for work done badly, for a no-show, for something damaged or missing, or for a payment that never arrived. Our responsibility to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem, which for most people is a few dollars. Nothing here limits anything that cannot be limited by law.

Text messages about your jobs

If you choose to, Ozeret texts you about your own listings and jobs: when somebody is available for your listing or answers your invitation, when a home invites you or books you, and when a visit is cancelled. You choose this yourself, by ticking the box when you sign up, answering yes in the app, or turning on the switch in Settings. The box is never ticked for you.

The code we text when you sign in is separate: it is sent only because you asked for it, and only to sign you in. How we handle your number is in the Privacy page.

Changes, and which law applies

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York.
